| I run 16x8.5's with 245/45-16's Victos all around. I considered 17x9's but couldn't get a good deal on lightweight wheels. Like Genic says, running the same size all around allows you to rotate the tire and prevent any accelerated wear at a certain position. I find the front, outer tire (most courses here are right-handed here) wears fastest. Also, running a front same width as the back helps with the Z's understeer. Check out the sccaforums for more tire info than you can stand. Victo's are called the longest wearing of the R-compounds, but also check out the Ectsta V700's, the new V710's and Hoosiers 04 tire. Options and opinions abound. One last thing: I was encouraged by local drivers to get my Victo's shaved to 4/32's to INCREASE tire life. I was told that full-thread Victos can blister and wear unevenly on heavy, high-power cars. I'll probably experiement with unshaved tires in the future, but for now, I took their advice. Your results may vary with your suspension, the course surface, temperatures, etc. What class and what setup are you planning to run?
